It teaches the use of the SRK-15® kit for safe emergency egress and self-rescue in wind turbine environments. The training covers key aspects like pre-emergency planning, proper use and maintenance of the kit, and practical evacuation scenarios, making it essential for wind industry workers to effectively handle emergency situations.

Tech Safety Lines | Evacuation & Self-Rescue Training: Wind Industry

The Evacuation & Self-Rescue Training course concentrates on the various usages of the SRK-15®  (ANSI & CE certified Kit), Evacuation and Self-Rescue on onshore & offshore wind turbines. Each student will learn to inspect and operate the dual-brake descender, as well as adjust the kit to his or her own body-weight in order to keep the kit event-ready in case of an emergency.

Each student must have appropriate PPE, including a full body harness, dual leg lanyard and any personal fall protection devices normally used. Students should be prepared to climb an actual structure several times each day.

Class Size: Maximum 6 students per instructor

Tech Safety Lines’ rescue training program meets or exceeds ANSI and OSHA standards for the onshore & offshore wind industry.

Course Overview

The majority of this class is held on an elevated structure. After becoming comfortable with the simple processes used with the SRK-15®, students will perform and participate in several simulated escape and rescue scenarios. Each student is required to have a full body harness, helmet, gloves, eye protection, and appropriate clothing and footwear.
